When I began this painting, I had released much of the ugly, damaging emotion and finally began to feel a new life emerging. In this artwork, the hard stone I had used in previous paintings has become an ancient Goddess, and I was the fetus growing inside of her. I still didn't know how I would turn out, which is why there are several fortune-telling symbols: the crystal ball, the ancient Rune symbols and the cat, both a pet and the witch's familiar. There is also water, representing the impending birth, as well as cracks and crevices which were still very much present on the landscape of my mind.
