My First Visit to Cape Henlopen

Though I’m sitting at home in the middle of a nasty snowstorm, I can’t complain a whole lot since it’s been a really mild winter up until only about a week or so ago.  I was sitting on my porch in my jammies at Christmas, and was wonderfully comfortable. Even so, I’m still missing the deliciously warm and mellow first part of winter. So I decided it would be a good time to finally finish up with the photos I took at the end of November at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware.

Cape Henlopen features not one, but two beautiful lighthouses as well as several WW2 observation towers. I visited one tower, but there are others and I need to make another trip down to specifically visit the Fort Miles Historical Area. But that will be for another post. It was a very dynamic day for the weather, with a short period of clear, bright blue sky followed by really thick and interesting clouds. Then came the sunset! Sunsets are great anywhere, but they are truly spectacular on the water!

Please enjoy these photos, and if you’re sitting in the middle of a blizzard like I am, I hope they also warm you up a bit!
