I think portraits should be, if nothing else, interesting.
I love color, but also adore the dramatic and stylish black-and-white, film noir style, so that gets incorporated into my portraits quite often. Period attire might help set the mood, but you can definitely achieve the same with contemporary dress. It’s not the props or clothing – it’s the attitude! It’s drama, it’s mystery, it’s fun!
Many of the subjects in these photos are models, musicians, artists and actors who needed unique images for promotional or other purposes.
