Alkyd on Canvas – 24″ x 30″

When I began this painting, I had released a lot of the ugly, damaging emotion and finally began to feel a new life emerging. In this artwork, the hard stone I had used in previous paintings has become an ancient Goddess, and I was the fetus growing inside of her. I still didn’t know how I would turn out, which is why there are several divination symbols: the crystal ball, the ancient Runic symbols and the cat as a witch’s familiar. There is also water, representing the impending birth, along with the huge cracks and crevices which were still very much present on the landscape of my mind.
