Grandpa, Why was I Sacrificed for You?
Acrylic and transfer on canvas – 8″ x 10″
This painting features a child’s hands which are bleeding in the archetypical manner of a sacrifice or crucifixion. The eyes are symbolizing not only the child witnessing her own sacrifice, but as “the windows to the Soul”, are demonstrating the devastation done to that Soul and spirit. Finally, there’s the eternal question asked by the innocent – WHY?
